We were teenagers when we met for
the first time in 1955 with working dogs as a
hobby.
Some
of our past dogs were Boxers and
German Shephards. Besides
working with our own
dogs we
also were instructors for courses in tracking, searching, obedience and other
working trials. Stig
also judged competitions in working trials and obedience.
Our
first Australian Cattle Dog moved into the
family in 1977. Wooleston Jungle Jon
was
10
months old, imported from Australia and we called him Jet.
Jet was an honest dog with
a good temper and a big loyalty to the family
and to our friends. We trained him for
competitions
in searching and reporting. He was the first ACD in Sweden
to get the title
Korad
and at the age of 9 he was the
first ACD to pass
a herding trial in
Sweden. He also
got his Swedish show champion title.
In 1980 we imported a bitch, Landmaster Kimberlee,
from Australia. "Kim" was a
gentle
tempered dog and she was
friendly to almost everyone, but not
dogs. She was also trained
for working
trials and herding
but only started in obedience. She
got her certificates
at dog
shows and
also the Best In Show title at the Swedish Kelpie and Cattle Dog club in Markaryd
for an Australian judge in 1984.
At the same show she also got the price
for best dog in obedience.
We got our first litter from Jet and Kim
in 1982 and since then we have a small and selected
breeding under the prefix Monstigens. We want to breed healthy dogs with
a good temper,
high
working ability and good
conformation. Our mission is to breed "all rounders" that
could
be
trained for almost any work
by the right person.
If you are interested or have any questions about the breed and our dogs you are
very
welcome to contact us.
